The Nationals Working Party is absolutely thrilled to announce KEVIN BURNETTE will be joining us! He will be a very busy man, judging ALL SIX days of the event. Please welcome him on board our judging panel!
Some words from Kevin:
Let me first start by saying what an honour it is to be asked to judge at the 2020 ANKC National Agility Trial, this is something I am truly looking forward to. I have heard great things about the venue, I will be making sure I put down some great courses for you to enjoy so you and your dog can wow me. Good luck everyone and have fun.
Who are your current dogs? Between Bronwen and myself we currently have six dogs, all Border Collies:
Blitz 10, Morgan 8, Biz 6, Kiwi 6, Buzz 3, and Kizmet 2.
How did you get started in agility? Over 20 years I chauffeured Bronwen to shows, she was competing in obedience with our first dog, a Dalmatian named Topaz. Once Bronwen moved into agility I thought maybe this is something I could do and eventually got my own NZ Heading Dog, Antz, and didn’t look back. I love the pressure that a big show creates as a competitor and judge; I have borrowed dogs at a couple of World Champs, and had a blast running my own dog Biz at your Aussie Nationals in 2018.
When you became a judge:
I started my judging journey in 2013.
Where you have judged:
All over NZ, including the 2016 and 2017 NZDACs (New Zealand Dog Agility Champs); I also had my first overseas appointment at Bulla Agility Dogs in August this year.
Most Memorable Judging Appointments:
The NZDAC is always a great event and an honour to judge at, simply seeing the best in the country all together at one event provides for some great competition. Judging in Aussie earlier this year at Bulla Agility Dogs. Plus I can never forget judging in the snow in Dunedin early on in my judging career.
What you love most about judging:
Setting courses that that provide options, allowing for flow and skill to merge into awesome teamwork, plus I get the best view in the house.
